Job Summary
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) operates in a full-time night shift providing a range of respiratory care services including ABG analysis, PFTs, and ventilator support for adult and neonatal patients. Duties include oxygen and aerosol therapy, bronchial hygiene, airway maintenance, and respiratory assessment; procedures performed under indirect supervision of the department medical director, with responsibilities across Cardiopulmonary diagnostics (arterial blood gases, pulse oximetry, PFTs, ECGs) and equipment management. Requirements include graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care Program, BLS and ACLS, NRP/PALS within one year of hire, Texas license, NBRC registration, and a minimum of 6 months of experience. The facility is Methodist Richardson Medical Center in the Dallas, TX area, a Magnet-designated hospital recognized for trauma and neonatal care.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program
- Current Basic Life Support certification
- Current Advanced Cardio Life Support certification
- NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support — must obtain within 1 year of hire
- Currently licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board
- Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care
- At least 6 months respiratory care experience.
