Job Summary
Perform direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care according to physician's orders and consult physicians on therapy effectiveness. Act as an advanced resource person for physicians and nursing regarding respiratory care while performing duties as assigned. Maintain current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) licensure and hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care. This full-time role at Mercy Hospital Southeast requires physical demands including pushing, pulling, and gripping up to 50 lbs, plus kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
Required Qualifications
- Prefer critical care experience
- Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program
- Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- PALS required for co-workers who work in the Emergency Room
- Meets state licensure requirements
- Has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license
- Physical demands: push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs
- Pinch up to 10 lbs
- Kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally
