Job Summary
Registered Respiratory Therapist providing comprehensive respiratory care to patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions across clinical settings. Administer and monitor respiratory therapies including oxygen and humidity therapy, aerosolized/nebulated medications, chest physiotherapy, and airway clearance techniques. Manage invasive and noninvasive ventilation, perform arterial blood gas sampling and interpretation, and assist in emergency responses (rapid response, code blue). Conduct and support diagnostic testing such as pulmonary function testing and bedside spirometry, ensuring accurate data collection and clear communication to the care team. Maintain meticulous EMR documentation, participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care planning, and support discharge planning for home respiratory equipment or ongoing therapy. Engage in ongoing education, competency assessments, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and outcomes. 24/7 coverage via rotating shifts in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in good standing
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience (not explicitly stated in posting)
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to perform ABG sampling and interpretation
- Experience with invasive and noninvasive ventilation management
