Job Summary
Performs direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care according to physician's orders, consulting physicians on therapy effectiveness and acting as an advanced resource for respiratory care. Consults physicians on effectiveness of therapy. Acts as an advanced resource person for physicians and nursing on respiratory care. Performs duties as assigned. Full-time position at Mercy Hospital St. Louis. Requires current RCP license and RRT credential; PALS preferred for ER staff. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs and equipment operation.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program
- Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license
- Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Physical demands: push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs
- Physical demands: pinch up to 10 lbs
- Physical demands: kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally
- Use of all appropriate respiratory care devices
Desired Qualifications
- Acute Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Prefer critical care experience
