Job Summary
Conduct respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, and ventilation support for neonatal to geriatric in-patients and out-patients. Monitor and wean oxygen therapy, draw and analyze arterial blood gases and EKGs, and deliver intermittent therapy as ordered by a physician. Review and document clinical information while educating patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans. Perform diagnostic procedures and adapt communication styles to specific patient populations, including those with physical, psycho-social, and safety needs. Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree
- Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice
- Certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 90 days of hire
- Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Must be able to stoop, bend, reach and grab with arms and hands, manual dexterity
- Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
- Must be able to travel throughout and between facilities
- Must be able to work a flexible work schedule (24/7, weekend, holiday, on call availability)
