Job Summary
Evaluate and administer therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care and life support to patients with breathing or other cardiopulmonary disorders. Consult with physicians concerning the development and modification of patient care plans. Requires current registration as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care and licensure with the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy. Basic Life Support certification is required, with Advanced Cardiac Life Support and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification depending on the unit. Flat rate pay of $31.00/hr for flexi/PRN shifts. UAB Medicine serves more than 1.2 million patients annually across numerous hospitals and sites of care in Alabama.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy
- Currently registered as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Licensed Respiratory Therapist (LRT) with the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy (ASBRT)
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (AHA)
