Job Summary
Evaluate and administer therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care and life support to patients with breathing or other cardiopulmonary disorders. Consult with physicians concerning the development and modification of patient care plans. This role requires a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with current NBRC registration and Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy licensure, plus BLS certification. Flexible/PRN shifts are available at UAB Medicine, Alabama's largest health system, which serves over 1.2 million patients annually across numerous hospitals and sites of care.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy
- Currently registered as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Licensed Respiratory Therapist (LRT) with the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy (ASBRT)
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (AHA)
