Job Summary
Registered Respiratory Therapist in a large, fast-paced academic hospital environment providing independent respiratory care, pulmonary and cardiology diagnostic testing, and ventildilator management across multiple units. Responsibilities include assembling and maintaining respiratory equipment, assessing patient response, collaborating with the care team to adjust therapy, documenting treatments, and potential supervision of department staff. The role offers 36 hours/week (3 x 12-hour shifts) with applicable night and weekend differentials, and a focus on high-quality patient care within a Magnet-recognized center.
Required Qualifications
- Associate or technical degree
- Proof of NBRC as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- RRT required for all new hires to the position after October 1, 2015; incumbents must have RRT by October 1, 2017
- Current license in state practiced as required by state law
- Experience in acute care hospital setting; minimum one year recent experience as RRT
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Must be knowledgeable of clinical techniques and equipment in respiratory care
Additional Requirements
- Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card required for Banner Home Care AZ employees
- Candidates must have or obtain applicable state licensing as required
