Job Summary
Provide routine and advanced respiratory care responsibilities, manage ventilators, implement cardiorespiratory protocols, and perform advanced airway care. Responsibilities include assisting physicians with bronchoscopy procedures, monitoring consciousness levels, administering IV conscious sedation (opioids, benzodiazepines, sedatives) and their reversals, initiating ventilator protocols, coordinating ventilator management, performing advanced airway care (tracheotomy changes, extubation, intubation), initiating and monitoring high-frequency ventilators, NICU duties (surfactant delivery, intubation, attend high-risk deliveries), optional transport/back-up charge therapist duties, and nitric oxide delivery. Requires NBRC RRT, NM license, ACLS/PALS and BLS; 2-3 years of college-level study or an associate degree/diploma in respiratory care. Experience in critical care preferred. Epic electronic charting experience. Role is PRN with varied days and hours and potential nights/weekends; malpractice insurance and loan forgiveness programs available. AA/EOE/VET/DISABLED.
Required Qualifications
- Two to three years college level courses/Associates Degree/Diploma in Respiratory Care
- New Mexico Respiratory Care Practitioner License
- Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from the NBRC
- ACLS and/or PALS
- BLS required
- Six months to one year critical care experience preferred
