Job Summary
Provide routine and advanced respiratory care, manage ventilators, implement cardiorespiratory protocols, and perform advanced airway care. Assist physicians with bronchoscopy procedures including monitoring consciousness and cardiovascular/pulmonary status, deliver IV conscious sedation, initiate ventilator protocols and coordinate ventilation management, perform tracheotomy changes, extubation, intubation, and initiation/monitoring of high-frequency ventilators. In NICU settings, perform surfactant delivery, intubation, and attend high-risk deliveries. Optional procedures include transport team support, additional intubation tasks, and back-up charge therapist; initiate and monitor Nitric Oxide delivery; perform department-specific duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Two to three years college level courses/Associates Degree/Diploma in Respiratory Care
- New Mexico Respiratory Care Practitioner License
- Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from NBRC
- ACLS and/or PALS
- BLS
- Six months to one year critical care experience preferred
