Job Summary
Provide routine and advanced respiratory care, manage ventilators, and assist with bronchoscopy procedures. Initiates and coordinates ventilator management, performs advanced airway care including tracheotomy changes, extubation, and intubation, and initiates/monitors high-frequency ventilators. In NICU settings, deliver surfactant, assist with intubation, and attend high-risk deliveries. Optional duties may include transport team support, nitric oxide delivery, and back-up charge therapist. Use EPIC electronic charting; participate in night/weekend shift differentials and pursue ongoing education, certification, and loan-forgiveness opportunities. Requires NM licensing and NBRC RRT credential, with ACLS/PALS and BLS as required. This is a PRN, on-call type opportunity with varied days and hours.
Required Qualifications
- Two to three years college level courses/Associates Degree/Diploma in Respiratory Care
- New Mexico Respiratory Care Practitioner License
- Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from NBRC
- ACLS and/or PALS
- BLS required
- Six months to one year critical care experience preferred
