Job Summary
Provide routine and advanced respiratory care responsibilities, manage ventilators, implement cardiorespiratory protocols, and perform advanced airway care. Responsibilities include assisting physicians with bronchoscopy procedures, initiating ventilator protocols, performing tracheotomy changes, extubation and intubation, monitoring high frequency ventilators, NICU duties such as surfactant delivery and high-risk deliveries, and potential transport/back-up duties. Optional duties may include transport team, additional intubation, and back-up charge therapist. Requires NBRC-registered Respiratory Therapist credentials, state license, ACLS/PALS/BLS as applicable, and 0.5–1.0 FTE PRN scheduling with varied shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Two to three years college level courses/Associates Degree/Diploma in Respiratory Care
- New Mexico Respiratory Care Practitioner License
- Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from the NBRC
- ACLS and/or PALS , BLS required
- Six months to one year critical care experience preferred
