Job Summary
Provide comprehensive respiratory care for adult and pediatric patients across general, pediatric, emergency, PACU, and critical care units. Perform therapeutic treatments, diagnostic monitoring, ventilator management, and emergency airway support while responding to Code Blue, MRT, and PRT calls. Assess respiratory status, develop individualized care plans, maintain accurate documentation, and verify EMR orders. Support pulmonary rehabilitation through exercise supervision, patient education, and home equipment coordination. Conduct pulmonary function testing including spirometry and lung volumes, and assist with cardiac diagnostics such as EKGs and stress tests. Maintain infection control practices and equipment calibration. Requires RRT certification and Michigan licensure; schedule includes 36 hours weekly with rotating shifts and every other weekend.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Currently licensed as a Respiratory Therapist in the State of Michigan or eligible to apply
- Schedule: 36 hours per week, variable shift, every other weekend
- Vaccination or lab confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella
- Flu vaccine during flu season in the year of hire and annually thereafter, or approved medical or religious exemption
