Registered Respiratory Therapist

Job Summary
Set up and operate respiratory therapy equipment for patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of respiratory disease and illness in a hospital clinical setting. Manage inpatient and outpatient care while responding quickly to emergencies, bending, squatting, and lifting up to 50 pounds or pushing rolling equipment weighing up to 400 pounds. Work eight hours or more in front of computer screens, utilizing proper body mechanics and maintaining a keen sense of hearing and visual acuity. Maintain current Arkansas Respiratory License in good standing and hold BLS certification. US citizenship is required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Graduate of an AMA approved Respiratory Therapy program
- Current Arkansas Respiratory License in good standing
- Registered by the NBRC or eligible by being a graduate of an AMA approved Respiratory Therapy program
- BLS
- US Citizenship
- Minimum 1 Year exp as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
- Must have the ability to solve problems and make decisions
- Must have the ability to move about freely and stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Must be able to respond quickly to emergencies
- Must be able to occasionally bend, squat, and twist
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to push and/or pull rolling equipment up to 400 pounds using proper body mechanics
- Must have a keen sense of hearing
- Must have visual acuity
- Must be able to handle critical and highly stressful situations with efficiency and composure

- ACCS certification
- PALS
- NRP
- 1 year acute care experience
