Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner PRN

Assess, treats and cares for patients with pulmonary disorders. Responsible for the clinical administration of all therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care modalities offered by the department. Operates and sets up devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration, aerosol generators, and disposable respiratory care products while following specific parameters for treatment. Provides emergency care, including artificial ventilation and CPR. Collects and analyzes arterial blood gases and evaluates patient response to therapy. Follows physician orders and collaborates with physicians, nurses and other health care professionals as part of the patient’s plan of care. Requires license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in Texas, NBRC credential (RRT or grandfathered CRT), BLS, and ACLS within 90 days; preferred PALS/NRP within 90 days depending on department needs; education: graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program; one year of RT experience preferred.
