Job Summary

Assess and document prescribed therapy appropriateness for adult and geriatric patients receiving respiratory care. Administer aerosol and oxygen therapy, draw arterial blood gases, and provide care to ventilator patients. Perform pulmonary function tests, drainage procedures, and cardiorespiratory rehabilitation while maintaining electronic medical records and charge documentation. Assist in department record keeping, staff training, and supervision of new employees. Make rounds to check respiratory therapy equipment, ensure compliance with ventilator and VAP bundles, and support physicians with bronchoscopies and special procedures. Full-time night shift position requiring Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential.

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT) credential or Certified Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-CRT) credential: Required in CA, OR, and HI
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license: Required in CA
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
  • Registered or Certified by the National Board of Respiratory Care: Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
  • AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS: Required
  • AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS: Required
  • AHA-PALS or ARC-PALS: Required
  • All required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (some certifications will require Bachelor's): Preferred
  • Master's Degree: Preferred
  • Three years' technical experience: Preferred
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Preferred
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Preferred
  • Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) certification: Preferred
