Job Summary
Perform diagnostic imaging studies per protocol, properly identifying patients, reviewing orders, and selecting diagnostic x-ray protocols to ensure quality and safe patient care. Accurately document procedures in HIS, RIS, and PACS systems while monitoring and assisting patients before, during, and after examinations. Maintain a clean environment, apply ALARA principles with proper patient shielding, and uphold confidentiality. Receive patients, explain procedures, and answer questions while accommodating variable volume with a flexible attitude. Assist in orienting new employees and training radiography students, participate in PI projects, and manage supplies and linen for the assigned area.
Required Qualifications
- High school or GED
- State of Maryland Radiation Technologist license
- Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- COVID-19 Vaccination
Desired Qualifications
- Graduate of an AMA/JRCERT Accredited school of Radiography/and OR associate degree in Radiologic Technology
- 1 year's radiography experience
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) R.T.(R)
- ARRT R.T.(R) certification
- Strong customer service & critical thinking skills
- Effective verbal and written skills
- Ability to work independently in a busy, fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Basic PC skills including RIS/PACS experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet Explorer)
- Knowledge of office practices, procedures, and equipment
- Stocking and management of supplies/linen for assigned area
