Job Summary
Provide professional nursing services for patients with complex and unpredictable mental health needs, including independent nursing interventions and treatments. Assume a leadership role within the healthcare team and facilitate coordination of patient care and discharge. Must be a graduate of an approved Registered Psychiatric Nursing or Registered Nursing program with active registration (CRPNM or CRNM). Maintain compliance with CPR requirements and relevant legislation (PHIA, WHMIS, Mental Health Act, etc.). Demonstrate strong communication, critical thinking, and ability to prioritize care in a demanding, in-person clinical environment. Includes day, evening, and weekend shifts and belongs to a 0.40 FTE position at Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved Registered Psychiatric Nursing program or approved Registered Nursing program
- Active registration with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba (CRPNM) or the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM)
- CPR training in accordance with employer policy
- Current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment
- Satisfactory employment record
