Job Summary
Registered Psychiatric Nurse/Nurse (RPN/RN) providing professional nursing services for patients with complex and unpredictable health needs in the Acute Area 3 SMHC unit. Responsibilities include independent nursing care, administration of prescribed treatments, leadership within the healthcare team, and coordination of patient care and discharge. Requires active registration with CRPNM or CRNM and completion of an approved RN or RPN program. CPR training, knowledge of RHPA/PHIA/Mental Health Act/WHMIS, and strong communication and organizational skills are required. Preference given to applicants with Indigenous language knowledge or Indigenous cultural understanding. This is a term, in-person position within Shared Health in Selkirk, MB.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved Registered Psychiatric Nursing program or approved Registered Nursing program
- Active registration with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba (CRPNM) or College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM)
- CPR training as per Employer policy
- Proficiency in applicable standards of practice and legislation (RHPA, PHIA, WHMIS, Mental Health Act)
- Ability to prioritize care, work under pressure, and coordinate patient care and discharge
