Job Summary
Registered Professional Land Surveyor role involving detailed drawings from sketches and specifications using AutoCAD Civil 3D; interpreting field notes and sketches; performing closure, precision, and other survey computations; producing topographic surveys from conventional and GPS surveys, terrestrial and aerial LiDAR; preparing ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, Record of Surveys, Parcel Maps, Final Maps, and related survey documents; preparing legal descriptions and exhibits for parcel/easement acquisitions; compiling land title information from title reports; pre-calculating survey data for construction surveys; requires a Bachelor’s degree and active CA PLS license; proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D; strong boundary and legal principles; ability to read/interpret construction plans (construction staking); GIS experience a plus; prior land development project experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Active California Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license.
- Must be proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Strong knowledge of boundary and legal principles.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, especially for construction staking.
- Experience with ESRI Geographic Information System (GIS) is a plus.
- Prior project experience in land development is preferred.
