Job Summary
Registered Professional Forester leading field teams for vegetation management on utility rights-of-way. Responsibilities include coordinating with property owners, contractors, and public agencies; conducting pre-inspections and post-audits; planning timber harvests; preparing CALFIRE approvals; supervising timber marking and field technicians; monitoring contractor performance; liaising with PG&E, CALFIRE, USFS, and BLM; promoting safety and ISA-standard practices. Requires CA state registration, a valid CA forester license, and strong communication skills. Required Qualifications
- Must be registered by the State of California as a professional forester in good standing
- Two (2) years’ experience in hazard tree removal projects along utility rights of way (preferred)
- Two weeks of overnight travel expected per year
- Valid driver’s license and clean MVR
- Familiar with vegetation management contractors’ work practices, proper arboricultural techniques and practices, and government agency requirements related to line clearances and fire prevention
- Excellent communication and independent work skills
- Comfortable working in rugged terrain and varying weather conditions
