Job Summary
Deliver planned, patient-oriented nursing care in accordance with provincial standards while implementing and evaluating resident care plans. Complete and maintain accurate clinical assessments, care plans, and documentation, ensuring all changes are communicated promptly. Teach, delegate, and mentor unregulated care providers through coaching and guidance. Build trusted relationships with residents, families, and the multi-disciplinary team via continuous communication. Operate a full-time 3PM-11PM shift within Cogir Senior Living's retirement residences, focusing on compassionate, resident-centric service.
Required Qualifications
- Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse in the applicable province
- Demonstrated sound clinical knowledge
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification required
- Current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one
- Strong written and oral communication skills and critical thinking skills
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
- Computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft office applications
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with seniors and with unregulated care providers preferred
- Education and experience in gerontology, rehabilitation, community/complex/long term care an asset
- Strong drive, respect and an understanding of the emotional and physical demands of the role
- Focus on teamwork and customer service with the ability to build trusted relationships
