Job Summary
RPN in Ontario required for a six-month contract in the Surgery Unit with responsibilities including assessment/planning/implementation/evaluation of patient care, post-operative inpatient care in orthopaedics/general surgery/gynecology/urology/plastics/thoracic/maxillofacial services, patient and family health teaching, discharge instructions, infection control, and responding to changes in patient status. Must have recent post-operative experience (within 5 years) and demonstrate strong clinical, communication, and team-collaboration skills; current CNO registration, BCLS, and relevant certifications are required; role may involve travel between Osler sites.
Required Qualifications
- Current registration, and in good standing, with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- BCLS required
- Medication administration certificate and patient assessment course required for RPNs graduating prior to 2005
- Senior leadership and interpersonal competencies as described in the role
- May be required to travel and work between all Osler sites
- Hours: Days/Evenings, 8 & 12 hours, including weekends and statutory holidays
