Job Summary
The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) will enrich the lives of residents by administering medications, treatments, and assessments while actively participating in multidisciplinary meetings to ensure quality care. Key responsibilities include developing and evaluating care plans, monitoring residents' health, directing nursing and personal care staff, and maintaining compliance with nursing standards and regulations. Candidates must hold a valid certificate from the College of Nurses of Ontario, possess First Aid and BLS certification, and demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Required Qualifications
- Appropriate current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
- A negative vulnerable sector check completed within 6 months of start date
- Completion of a 2 Step TB Skin test within the last 12 months of start date
Desired Qualifications
- Registration or eligible for registration with the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario
- Current First Aid and BLS Certificate
- Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and health care practices
- Knowledge in Infection Control Practices
- Effective human relation skills
- Demonstrated commitment to working with seniors
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
