Job Summary
Conduct client assessments, administer medications, and provide wound care in clients' homes, clinics, and virtually. Deliver primary care, manage chronic diseases such as diabetes, and support palliative care while collaborating with healthcare professionals. Perform specimen collection, deliver rehabilitative programs, and offer education and counseling to individuals and families. This part-time role (0.8 FTE) includes bi-weekly hours of 60, with shifts covering days, evenings, and weekends, plus an on-call requirement. Candidates must be licensed Registered Practical Nurses in the province of practice, hold a valid driver's license, and pass a Criminal Records Check. VON Canada, a not-for-profit organization, offers this position to support person-centred care for over 125 years.
Required Qualifications
- Must be licensed as a Registered Practical Nurse in the province of practice
- Must enjoy driving
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must have access to a reliable vehicle
- A satisfactory Criminal Records Check is required
- Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Must be able to lift, carry, bend, reach, kneel, and perform other movements emphasizing good body mechanics
- Must be able to walk, sit, stand, and climb stairs throughout the day
- Must be able to perform tasks requiring fine hand movements
