Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)

Job Summary
Assess individual residents' needs, organize care plans to promote independence, and distribute medications in accordance with approved standards. Provide direct resident care, answer emergency calls, and supervise attendants while maintaining accurate records of observations and procedures. Lead the team by developing employees, recognizing safety hazards, and ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and occupational health legislation. Serve beverages and meals as requested, assist with housekeeping duties, and report incidents to the Health & Wellness Manager. Maintain effective communication with residents, families, and supervisory staff to advocate for resident rights.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of grade 12 education
- Recognized nursing license (RPN licensing) in good standing with College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Emergency First Aid certification
- CPR certification
- AED certification
- Proficient computer skills (i.e. Word and Excel)
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, in the English language
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Dependable, responsible, and ability to work well with others in a team environment and independently
- Positive attitude necessary to meet the goals and standards of the residence
- Resident-oriented individual whose visions and values align with those of the residence
- Excellent leadership skills

Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience working as an RPN in a health care setting
