Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)

Job Summary
Assess resident needs and organize care plans to promote maximum independence while distributing medications and providing treatments per approved standards. Supervise attendants and staff, ensuring they follow resident care plans, and act as team leader for resident care. Maintain accurate records of observations and procedures, update plans every six months, and report incidents or status changes to the Health & Wellness Manager. Answer emergency calls, assist with immediate situations, and comply with infection control and safety protocols. Serve beverages and meals as requested, assist with housekeeping and laundry duties, and maintain adequate supply stock.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of grade 12 education
- Recognized nursing license (RPN licensing) in good standing with College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Emergency First Aid certification
- CPR certification
- AED certification
- Proficient computer skills (i.e. Word and Excel)
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, in the English language
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Dependable, responsible, and ability to work well with others in a team environment and independently
- Positive attitude necessary to meet the goals and standards of the residence
- Resident-oriented individual whose visions and values align with those of the residence
- Excellent leadership skills

- Previous experience working as an RPN in a health care setting
