Job Summary
Provide nursing care in accordance with policy and physician's orders while identifying resident needs to develop and maintain appropriate care plans. Ensure timely admission for residents and manage the supply, control, and safe keeping of drugs and narcotics following assigned protocols. Adhere to requirements of the Nursing Home Act, Health Disciplines Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Pharmacy Act, and Food & Drug Act. This 3-month full-time contract offers competitive compensation for RPNs with current College of Nurses of Ontario registration and geriatric care expertise.
Required Qualifications
- Current certificate of registration from College of Nurses of Ontario (RPN)
- Diploma in Practical Nursing
- Current registration as Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Sound nursing knowledge in geriatric care
- Knowledge of the Nursing Home Act and Regulations
- Knowledge of the appropriate sections of the Health Disciplines Act
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Knowledge of the Pharmacy Act
- Knowledge of the Food & Drug Act
