Job Summary
Provide nursing care in accordance with policy, physician's orders, and the resident plan of care for residents at a retirement residence in Perth. Identify resident needs, develop and maintain appropriate care plans, and ensure timely admissions. Manage the supply, control, and safe keeping of drugs and narcotics while following assigned shift protocols. Apply sound nursing practice principles and geriatric care knowledge to uphold the Nursing Home Act, Health Disciplines Act, and Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements. Maintain current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario. This 3-month full-time contract offers a competitive compensation package.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)
- Diploma in Practical Nursing
- Current registration as Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Ability to provide a copy of the nursing license to indicate good standing
- Sound nursing practice principles
- Sound nursing knowledge in geriatric care
- Nursing administration knowledge
- Knowledge of the requirements of the Nursing Home Act and Regulations
- Knowledge of the appropriate sections of the Health Disciplines Act
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Knowledge of the Pharmacy Act
- Knowledge of the Food & Drug Act
