Job Summary
Provide nursing care in accordance with policy, physician's orders, and resident plans of care for senior living homes in St. Catharines. Identify resident needs to develop and maintain appropriate care plans while ensuring timely admissions. Manage the supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, strictly following protocols on all assigned shifts. Apply sound nursing practice principles and geriatric care knowledge to uphold Nursing Home Act, Health Disciplines Act, and Pharmacy Act requirements. Maintain current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
Required Qualifications
- Current certificate of registration from College of Nurses of Ontario (RPN)
- Diploma in Practical Nursing
- Current registration as Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Sound nursing knowledge in geriatric care and nursing administration
- Knowledge of the requirements of the Nursing Home Act and Regulations
- Knowledge of the appropriate sections of the Health Disciplines Act
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Knowledge of the Pharmacy Act
- Knowledge of the Food & Drug Act
