Job Summary
Provide nursing care in accordance with policy, physician's orders, and resident plans of care while identifying resident needs and developing appropriate care plans. Ensure timely admissions and maintain safe control of drugs and narcotics following assigned protocols. Apply sound geriatric nursing knowledge and nursing administration principles while adhering to the Nursing Home Act, Health Disciplines Act, and Occupational Health and Safety regulations. This 3-month full-time contract includes 4% vacation pay and is located in senior living homes across North York, Scarborough, and Vaughan.
Required Qualifications
- Current certificate of registration from College of Nurses of Ontario (RPN)
- Ability to provide a copy of the nursing license to indicate good standing
- RPN - Diploma in Practical Nursing
- Current registration as Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Sound nursing knowledge in geriatric care and nursing administration
- Knowledge of the requirements of the Nursing Home Act and Regulations
- Knowledge of the appropriate sections of the Health Disciplines Act
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Knowledge of the Pharmacy Act
- Knowledge of the Food & Drug Act
