Job Summary
Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) part-time role in AgeCare Pine Grove. In collaboration with the Registered Nurse, provides professional nursing care to residents, directs Personal Support Workers, and ensures care meets regulatory standards. Maintains liaison with physicians and the health care team, notifies physicians of significant changes in resident status in the absence of the RN, participates in shift reports, and supports care planning and unit procedures. Requires current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario and active membership in good standing. Required Qualifications
- Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario (CON) and member in good standing
- Sound knowledge in geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing including activation, nursing, and personnel administration
- Knowledge of the Fixing Long-Term Care Act and Regulations, Health Disciplines Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Pharmacy Act, Food and Drugs Act (Canada), Controlled Substances Act (Canada), Health Promotion and Protection Act, Coroners Act, College of Nurses of Ontario Standards of Practice
- Ability to work collaboratively with Registered Nurse and direct Personal Support Workers
- Eligibility to work in Canada (Canadian work experience not required)
