Registered Practical Nurse-Permanent Part Time -Extendicare Mississauga

Job Summary
Provide nursing care to residents in a Canadian long-term care setting; perform assessments, assist in developing and implementing care plans, monitor health status and respond to changes, follow physician orders and administrative policies, observe and record vital signs and conditions, ensure adherence to infection control practices, and communicate effectively with residents, families, and the care team. Demonstrates ability to utilize nursing standards, document accurately, coordinate care, and manage time while maintaining compassionate, person-centered care for seniors.
Required Qualifications
- Appropriate current certificate of competence from the Approved Institutions for the province
- Registration or eligible for registration with the Approved Institutions for the province
- Previous managerial experience in long-term care or community homecare preferred
- Experience dealing with the cognitively impaired
- Knowledge in Infection Control Practices
- Ability to present information clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing; active listening
- Organizational, planning, time management and multi-tasking skills
