Job Summary
Deliver exceptional patient-centered care by performing treatments, procedures, assessments, monitoring, and interdisciplinary reporting. Assist patients with activities of daily living while providing relevant education to patients and families. Apply nursing knowledge through patient assessment and manage the full scope of practice using the Three Factor Framework. Full-time contract expected to end February 2027. Requires College of Nurses of Ontario registration, RPN diploma, CPR certificate, and medication administration course. Minimum one year recent medical experience within a hospital setting is required, along with I.V. training and familiarity with Meditech systems. Telemetry and oncologic/palliative nursing experience preferred. Required Qualifications
- College of Nurses of Ontario Certificate of Registration in good standing
- RPN Diploma or equivalent
- Current CPR certificate
- Medication administration course
- Excellent physical assessment skills
- Minimum of one year recent medical experience within a hospital setting
- Demonstrated evidence of ongoing professional education in related clinical area
- Demonstrated knowledge of discharge planning and appropriate use of community resources
- Demonstrated ability to work in a patient centered, multi-disciplinary team environment
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and negotiating skills
- I.V. trained and certified or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire
- Demonstrated familiarity with monitoring patients receiving blood products
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
- All required doses of a COVID-19 vaccine approved by Health Canada
- Applicable criminal record check
Desired Qualifications
- Telemetry and/or oncologic and palliative nursing experience
- Experience and demonstrated ability in CADD pump maintenance or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire
- Knowledge, experience and competence in managing complex pain and symptoms related to disease processes and palliation
- Experience with Meditech system modules
