Job Summary
The role provides direct nursing care in the Emergency Department as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) within the Unit Patient Care Team, operating under the direction of other healthcare professionals. Responsibilities include delivering patient-centered care in accordance with Standards of Nursing Practice and hospital policies, participating in quality improvement and risk management initiatives, and contributing to a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment. The position requires current RPN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario, with preference for prior acute/emergency care experience and BCLS certification; additional preferences include RPNAO membership and Emergency Nursing Certificate. Shift coverage includes days and nights, 7 days per week, as a temporary part-time assignment.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Practical Nurse
- currently registered with College of Nurses of Ontario
- Preference for acute care or emergency care experience
- 2+ years of current acute care experience preferred
- Valid BCLS
- RPNAO member preferred
- Emergency Nursing Certificate preferred
