Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care to residents in geriatric/long-term care settings, collaborating with the Registered Nurse and supervising Personal Support Workers. Implement AgeCare policies, contribute to unit procedures, liaise with physicians and external health-care partners, and promptly notify the physician of significant changes in resident status in the absence of the RN. Work with the health-care team to meet residents’ care needs, participate in shift reports to ensure all team members are informed of changes, and contribute to ongoing care planning while adhering to relevant acts, standards, and regulations. A current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario and active nursing registration are required. Required Qualifications
- Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) in good standing
- Experience in geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing preferred
- Knowledge of applicable provincial statutes and health acts (e.g., Health Disciplines Act, OHS Act, Pharmacy Act, Food and Drugs Act)
