Registered Practical Nurse - Brain Program

Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) needed to support nursing care in the Brain Program – ABI Service at Toronto Rehabilitation Institute – University Centre (0.4 FTE, Day/Evening shifts). Provide education to patients and families, work within an inter-professional care team to create a safe environment, contribute to the care planning process, and ensure safe, competent care within scope of practice. Actively participate in education/mentorship of RPN students and new staff and participate in program and hospital-wide initiatives. Must have current College of Nurses of Ontario (General Certificate) and be in good standing, Basic Cardiac Life Support (C level) Heart Saver Plus, and a medication certificate; recent rehabilitation nursing experience with neurological patient populations and ability to manage trach care, suctioning, tube feeding, and bowel/bladder management. Demonstrated ability to assess, monitor clinical status, and respond to changes, with strong health assessment and computer proficiency. The role emphasizes patient safety, adherence to hospital policies, and opportunities for development within a large healthcare organization.
