Job Summary
Conduct diagnostic, titration, split night, MSLT, and MWT sleep studies while performing accurate scoring and staging per AASM standards. Prepare and calibrate equipment, perform biocalibrations, and execute proper patient hook-ups using the 10-20 system. Implement therapeutic interventions such as CPAP, BiLevel, and oxygen administration, recognizing and responding to serious medical problems per protocol. Complete patient paperwork, generate polysomnogram reports, and back up study data. This role requires certification as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist, adult CPR, and proficiency in sleep stages and EKG patterns. Candidates must maintain confidentiality, demonstrate financial responsibility, and mentor new employees.
Required Qualifications
- Certification as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT and/or RST)
- Successful completion of an approved Polysomnography training program
- Certification in Adult CPR
- Proficient knowledge of sleep stages and sleep disorders
- Knowledge of basic EKG patterns and ability to recognize life-threatening arrhythmias
- Must be able to work independently
- Must be self-motivated and willing to further education
- Must be a team oriented clinician
- High school graduate
