Job Summary
The Registered Polysomnographer performs comprehensive testing, analysis, and associated interventions for sleep disorders. This role requires strong communication skills to interact with patients and the ability to lift and reposition patients and equipment safely. Candidates must have a High School Diploma, be a Registered Polysomnographic Technician, and can expect to complete CE credits to maintain licensure. A thorough knowledge of procedures, BLS certification, and proficiency in Windows software are essential, along with at least two years of relevant experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Registered Polysomnographic Technician
- Complete and thorough knowledge of procedures and techniques
- Two or more years’ experience
- Proficient with Windows based computer software
- BLS required
- Must complete an average of 10 CE’s a year to complete 30 CE’s in 3 years
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to lift over 25 pounds
- Must remain awake in a darkened environment for extended periods of time
