Job Summary
Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service in the Pharmacy; assists pharmacists in the preparation and distribution of prescription medications; prepares and labels prescriptions, handles insurance claims, and processes refill requests; administers vaccines as allowed by law; maintains patient information and supports pharmacy operations; communicates with customers and colleagues to ensure accurate dispensing, safety, and compliance with HIPAA and USP 800 guidelines; requires high school diploma or equivalent and national certification as a pharmacy technician; hourly starting wage estimated at $17.00–$21.25 depending on experience; fast-paced retail setting with occasional heavy lifting and exposure to hazardous drugs as outlined.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified as a licensed pharmacy technician through a national certification program
- Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or clerk preferred
- Vaccination certification as required by law (if applicable)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally; strong customer service
- Knowledge of HIPAA and USP 800 guidelines
