Job Summary
Request and accept prescription refill authorizations, process medications through various insurances, and resolve errors. Count prescription medication, fill prescriptions, type labels, and reconstitute orders. Prepare unit dose, modified unit dose, and medication cards while restocking shelves and checking inventory for outdated items. Coordinate prescription orders for shipment and assist in training new technicians. Greet patients at the Point of Sale and answer telephone calls professionally. Adhere to State and Federal regulations, maintain patient confidentiality, and collaborate with clinical teams to improve methods and procedures. Work Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 8:30 PM for 40 hours weekly.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Registered Pharmacy Technician license from the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers) Certification
- Six months to 2 years of pharmacy or related experience
- Must be flexible and be able to work different schedules to meet client and pharmacy needs
- Detailed knowledge of OTC drugs and laws governing OTC medications
- Competent working knowledge of insurance plans
- Thorough knowledge of the Registered Pharmacy Technician Procedures
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment and troubleshoot and solve problems
- Demonstrated strong verbal and written communications skills
- Must be organized and be able to prioritize tasks
- Detail oriented and possess excellent customer service skills
- Computer literate with intermediate skills in Microsoft Office 365 including Excel, Word, Outlook & Teams
- Shifts would be during Pharmacy hours of Monday - Friday 8:30 AM to 8:30 PM, no weekends
- 40 hours weekly
