Job Summary
Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by greeting clients, answering phones, and assisting with product requests. Fill and verify prescriptions while counseling patients according to OBRA '90 regulations. Manage pharmacy inventory, including controlled substances, by ordering, stocking, and performing annual counts. Conduct monthly inventory checks, reconcile third-party accounts, and visit schools or senior centers to market services. Train employees, participate in education, and lead the department in the manager's absence. Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and Quality Assurance procedures while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA.
Required Qualifications
- Professional License/Certification
- College degree and licensure in pharmacy
- Continuing education to maintain license
- Six months to a year of similar or related work experience
- Must be able to physically exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
- Vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction

- Must be able to perform reconciliation and balancing of 3rd party accounts
- Must be able to visit schools, doctors' offices, senior centers, etc. to market services
- Must be able to build growth and sales through counseling and wellness programs
- Must be able to follow security and regulatory procedures including Quality Assurance Programs
- Must be able to assume the responsibility for the department in the absence of the pharmacy manager
- Must be able to maintain a professional appearance, i.e. clean lab coat and name tag
- Must be able to communicate continually with pharmacy manager about any procedural changes, issues, or corporate communications
- Must be able to adhere to company policies and individual store guidelines
- Must be able to report to work when scheduled and on time
- Must be able to maintain the confidentiality of the customer's private medical information according to the HIPAA act
- Must be able to maintain the confidentiality of prescription drug pricing and costs
- Must acknowledge that exposure to hazardous drugs may cause acute and chronic effects
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre employment drug screen
Desired Qualifications
- Medication Therapy Management (MTM) preferred
