Job Summary
Develop direct rehab care for patients upon physician referral by following treatment plans for activities of daily living and establishing realistic, measurable goals. Liaise with patients, families, and support departments to plan needs, while overseeing and evaluating care provided by OTAs, Rehab Aides, and students. Chart appropriately and utilize therapy software accurately to interpret department programs and policies. Participate in community health projects, assist in patient evacuation, and function productively on an interdisciplinary team while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to Life Care's Code of Conduct.
Required Qualifications
- NBCOT certified upon hire
- Graduate of an accredited program in occupational therapy (BSOT or MSOT)
- Currently registered/licensed in applicable State
- Must maintain an active license in good standing throughout employment
- CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation
- CPR certification must remain current during employment
- Must demonstrate good body mechanics at all times
- Must be able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facility
- Must maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
- Must understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
- Must display integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care's Code of Conduct and complete mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training
- Must be able to follow occupational treatment plans for patients (i.e., activities of daily living)
- Must be able to establish, assess, and modify realistic, measurable, timely, and functional goals
- Must be able to oversee and evaluate care given by OTAs, Rehab Aides, and students
- Must be able to chart appropriately and timely
- Must be able to utilize therapy software appropriately and accurately
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
