Job Summary
Establish, assess, and modify realistic, measurable, and functional goals for patients receiving direct rehab care in occupational therapy. Follow treatment plans for activities of daily living while overseeing and evaluating care provided by OTAs, rehab aides, and students. Liaise with patients, families, and support departments to plan needs, chart appropriately, and utilize therapy software accurately. Communicate productively on an interdisciplinary team and assist in patient evacuation. Maintain confidentiality, adhere to company policies, and demonstrate good body mechanics while performing physical tasks such as lifting and moving patients. Participate in community health projects as appropriate.
Required Qualifications
- NBCOT certified upon hire
- Graduate of an accredited program in occupational therapy (BSOT or MSOT)
- Currently registered/licensed in applicable State
- Active license in good standing throughout employment
- CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation
- CPR certification must remain current during employment
- Must demonstrate good body mechanics at all times
- Must maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
- Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
- Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care's Code of Conduct
- Complete mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training
- Read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
