Job Summary
Establish, assess, and modify realistic, measurable, and functional goals for patients based on physician referrals. Follow occupational treatment plans covering activities of daily living while overseeing care provided by OTAs, rehab aides, and students. Chart appropriately and utilize therapy software to track progress. Liaise with patients, families, and support departments to plan care, and assist in patient evacuation when necessary. Communicate productively on an interdisciplinary team while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to all safety, sanitation, and compliance standards. Maintain good body mechanics and demonstrate dependable attendance in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting.
Required Qualifications
- NBCOT certified upon hire
- Graduate of an accredited program in occupational therapy (BSOT or MSOT)
- Currently registered/licensed in applicable State
- Active license in good standing throughout employment
- CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation
- CPR certification must remain current during employment
- Must demonstrate good body mechanics at all times
- Must maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
- Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
- Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care's Code of Conduct
- Complete mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training
- Read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
