Job Summary
Perform initial health screenings, document vital signs, and manage acute and chronic conditions for detained individuals. Provide direct patient care, triage, and respond to medical emergencies while adhering to correctional security protocols. Educate patients on preventative care and maintain accurate medical records. Work alongside correctional officers to ensure patient safety within a controlled environment. Full-time night shift available with competitive hourly pay and shift differential.
Required Qualifications
- Holds a current, unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse within the State
- Must possess an active BLS CPR Certification (American Heart Association required)
- Knowledge of nursing practice principles and techniques, occupational health and safety standards, infectious disease management, applicable health care laws, regulations, and procedures for direct health care services
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently and in a team
- Flexible schedule and availability to work overo a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
- Must pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening
- Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift
