Job Summary
Admit clients to the program, obtain physician orders, and administer intramuscular and oral medications while managing medication administration records. Perform nursing assessments, draw blood, process lab results, and schedule electrocardiograms. Facilitate psycho-educational groups, supervise staff on assigned shifts, and oversee unit operations in the absence of the Unit/Nursing Supervisor. Maintain thorough documentation of daily activities, coordinate medical and psychiatric needs with treatment providers, and refer clients to community resources for housing and health services. Respond to medical emergencies and call emergency medical services when warranted. Requires an Associate's degree or higher in nursing, moderate behavioral health experience, a current Virginia RN license, CPR certification, and a valid Virginia driver's license. Day shift with every other weekend required.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher with coursework in nursing
- Moderate experience as a registered nurse in a behavioral health setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Possession of a current Virginia license as a Registered issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Nursing
- CPR certification
- Valid driver's license in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- Computer proficiency
- Every other weekend required
