Job Summary
Provide comprehensive nursing care tailored to individual patient needs in a forensic psychiatry unit at Restigouche Hospital Centre. Participate actively in initiatives improving quality of care and patient safety while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team focused on rehabilitation and community reintegration. Deliver specialized psychiatric services in a secure, modern environment supporting recovery for patients with complex mental-health needs. This role requires rotating 8- or 12-hour shifts and essential bilingualism in French and English. Candidates must hold a recognized nursing degree, maintain Canadian nursing association membership, and possess valid BLS certification. The position offers a $25,000 recruitment incentive and relocation assistance for eligible applicants.
Required Qualifications
- Hold a recognized nursing degree
- Be a member in good standing of a Canadian professional nursing association
- Be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Nurses Association of New Brunswick
- Hold a valid Basic Life Support certification — BLS
- Be bilingual in French and English
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate leadership, sound professional judgment and adaptability
- Be able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Be legally authorized to work in Canada and New Brunswick
- Suicide prevention and intervention training in a psychiatric setting, or a commitment to complete it within the prescribed timeframe
- Advanced CPI non-violent crisis-intervention training, or a commitment to complete it
