Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) on a Cardiac ICU/Neuro-focused unit in YNHH health system. Responsibilities include assessing patients across the continuum of care, developing and communicating individualized plans of care, coordinating with the healthcare team, supervising non-RN personnel, serving as preceptor and charge nurse, ensuring high-level patient education, and maintaining readiness for discharge. Requires nursing degree, CT RN licensure, BCLS, and preferred BSN with experience in critical care settings such as neuro and cardiothoracic ICU, including management of devices (e.g., ECMO, IABP, Impella, LVAD) and complex post-operative care.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- BSN preferred
- Current Connecticut RN license
- BCLS certification required within one month of hire
- Clinical specialty certification encouraged
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
- Ability to supervise non-RN personnel
- Preceptor/charge nurse experience preferred
- Accountability to practice within the Nurse Practice Act
