Job Summary
Conduct initial and follow-up assessments and evaluations for patients with wound skin concerns, ordering specific follow-up care when indicated. Provide direct education to healthcare consumers, caregivers, clinical staff, and healthcare providers regarding wound care. Serve as a consultant and liaison between nursing staff, medical staff, pharmacy, and patients. Maintain specialty care expertise through self-directed practice while promoting specialty care directly or indirectly. Requires two years of clinical Wound/Ostomy experience, a BSN degree for new hires after 2012, and a valid FL RN license. Works four 9-hour day shifts from 8:00am to 5:30pm.
Required Qualifications
- two (2) years of experience working with patient in Wound/Ostomy in a clinical setting
- basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications
- graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program
- Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN)
- BLS: Basic Life Support/CPR
- FL Registered Nurse License
Desired Qualifications
- membership in a professional organization associated with wound care
- BSN: Bachelor of Science Nursing
- WCC: Wound Care Certified
